It is a rockwell t221. I removed the cable and the gear and gear sleeve and see no seal anywhere. Can someone tell me what I'm missing.

There has to be some kind of O-ring or paper seal in there to keep the oil from leaking......

I thought the speedo cable exited the transmission above the oil level. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 13 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 13 | The transfer case is not over filled. But looking in the shop manual I have it apears that the speedo gear and cable should exit on the top side of the housing and towards the drivers side. Mine exits from the bottom and towards the passengers side. I think it might need to be spun if the 4 bolt pattern is equal. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 13 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 13 | i solved my problem. i took the speedo gear housing(metal coupler threaded on both sides) and had a machinist bore a hole to fit a speedo seal from at turbo 350. works great!!!

My transfer case is leaking like a sieve, where the speedo cable connects. Mine also exits from the bottom and towards the passengers side. And there's no o-rings whatsoever. I saw that you had a machinist bore a hole (to fit a speedo seal from a turbo 350). Any advice on how to do that? Size/etc?
Thx, Wayne
