For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2001 Posts: 35 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Apr 2001 Posts: 35 | Somewhere I saw some pix of a dash that had been modified so that the speaker grill/Ashtray area had been modified to fold down in order to put in a hidden stereo or Cd player
Does anyone know where those pix are? | | | | | Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 940 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 940 | Sounds interesting. Wouldn't mind seeing some detail pics of that.
Personally, I was thinking about one of those radios that looks exactly original but has the hookups in back for an ipod or other device. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 1,026 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 1,026 | Yep, I did it to mine. Got a video on my webshots page below. Haven't updated since that orinigal post, but the radio is installed and works great. Will try to get some more shots this weekend.

Yeah, that is what I was looking for. I have been trying to keep stock appearances as much as possible but I need someplace to put some additional gauges as the reproductions/originals are not up to the v8, particularly the temp gauge. I wondered about using some piano hinge? | | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 Master Gabster | | Master Gabster Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 | Yep, I did it to mine. I opted to put my air conditioning vents in there instead of running at the base of the dash. My radio has a USB so I can listen to I tunes
