Hey all
Im a new owner of a 46 2 ton, and had a question about the cab. Lots of clutch head screws, mine are all painted the cab color because of a cheap paint job.

Im going to repaint the interior properly, I wanted to paint all the parts separately, and probably install new clutch head bolts/screws.

Am I leaving them just plated metal, or were they originally painted? Im sort of assuming they were just left plated. But I dont know.

If you find a source for the clutch heads PLEASE let me know. I want to replace mine but, haven't been able to find a supplier for anything but the most standard ones.

there is a classic parts place here in OKC that sells parts like that........its called Classic Chevrolet Parts Inc. Phone # is 405 631-4400. they are really helpful and if they don't have the part for some reason, they will tell you of someone who does. hope this helps you on your quest for clutch head screws (i hate them things).

Thanks materman. I have been on their site - and just about everyone else's for that matter. I can find some screws and bolts but, I guess they just don't seem to available any more.
Admittedly, they are not the best design but, that what my truck has just about everywhere so I would like to restore/replace them.
I'll keep looking.

My 1942 1.5 dump is all orig/never painted,Interior clutch head screws are painted. My interior trim is black, maybe the screws came black also from the factory. Chevs of the 40s has the screws, I think i saw a bag of 100 for $22.00?

For what it is worth I have parted out 2 1946 parts trucks and the screws were painted the same tan as the interior. New ones come in Black but I am painting them the Tan color for my restoration project.
Some Clutch Head Screws are not available. Try & salvage the larger ones & clean on a wire wheel or bead blaster. Hold on tight with a pair of pliers because they will fly like a bullet dang (ware safety gogles!)
