It still has the original drive train. I am getting ready to get on the road to a few shows but the truck is pushing at 50mph. What is the best way to get the truck up to 60-65mph. Someone told me you can put a overdrive on the back. Thank for your help.

Can't remember what the 3/4 tons had. If it's 4:11 you can run it 60-65 w/o hurting it. I've run mine over 75 and it's still together. Don't worry about the noise it makes running fast if it's in good condition. They sound worse than they are. A 4:56 may be a little too much for anything over 55. Not sure there is anything to do but change the rear end if I want more then 50mph. Remember how drum brakes can fade and quit working when trying to make an emergency stop at freeway speeds? Especially if you resort to the ABS brake mode of tromping and holding the pedal down.
