It engages almost, then rattles and spinns freely, and I have to test several times before it suddenly engages and turns the engine. It sounds terrible, what is the cause of this, bad battery ? The starter block that the arm presses to is new, but it was the same before. I have seen starter parts at Jim Carters, but it's for a starter up to early -55. I have a -59 with a 261. Anyone with a good link for parts ? /Ulf My Chevy Viking 1959Ulf Hedlund. Eskilstuna. Sweden [email protected]Also: Ford Galaxie 4 dr 1959 Ford Custom 4 dr 1964 Ford Mustang GT 2005

My 2004 Jim Carter catalog lists their p/n ME910 $14.70 in 2004, hope that helps.
