For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 23 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 23 | I have a 1950 pickup but I am having trouble finding out what model it is. The serial # is 14TJ-C 1173. So as far as I can figure out it is a 1.5 ton 4100 or 4800. Am I correct? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | boylee,
TJ probably indicated 4100 in 1950 because: UJ indicated 4100 in 1951, and VJ indicated 4100 in 1952
14TJ-C 1173 14 = Baltimore, MD assembly plant T = probably indicates 1950? J = probably indicates 4100 C = March 1173 - 173rd truck off the assembly line (seems a small number).
Maybe someone else can confirm, or correct, or clarify (or speculate)?
