I have a 1950 pickup but I am having trouble finding out what model it is. The serial # is 14TJ-C 1173. So as far as I can figure out it is a 1.5 ton 4100 or 4800. Am I correct?

boylee,

TJ probably indicated 4100 in 1950 because:
UJ indicated 4100 in 1951, and
VJ indicated 4100 in 1952

14TJ-C 1173
14 = Baltimore, MD assembly plant
T = probably indicates 1950?
J = probably indicates 4100
C = March
1173 - 173rd truck off the assembly line (seems a small number).

Maybe someone else can confirm, or correct, or clarify (or speculate)?

hey Bart, welcome to the garage ... what kinda help ya lookin for? the 7428WIS is a number some WI official hand waved into existence in 1986 for someone that didn't have a title, nothing to do with a '41 anything, if you want to learn more about your truck look around, and start a post somewhere like the welcome forum and tell us about it's story [pics would be fun] - there's also a good site to find factory manuals and info here
