After some shimming and adjusting, it fits well and the gaps along the fender look nice. However, when i close it the left rear corner (in front of the driver) remains up about a half-inch. It does go into place with a gentle push down in the corner by the cowl.
what is wrong or adjusted improperly here? is it a weak spring or bad hinge?

hopefully between the two threads we'll both get our problems solved | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | the issues with fitting hoods of the 2 series are different .... are you using original hinges Tom? did you start by fitting the hood without springs on the hinges? usually when the back of a TF hood pops up when closed, but it lays correctly without the springs, it's because of worn pivot pins on the hinges - meaning you need at least one new hinge
