the issues with fitting hoods of the 2 series are different .... are you using original hinges Tom? did you start by fitting the hood without springs on the hinges? usually when the back of a TF hood pops up when closed, but it lays correctly without the springs, it's because of worn pivot pins on the hinges - meaning you need at least one new hinge
