Hi bolters, my 63 has some bad rust inside the cab. Like right above the doors and the eyebrow piece above my front windshield. Any suggestions on getting it gone? I would make some panels for it but i just dont know where i would start for the pieces above the door. I would put pictures up but i dont know how to. Thx

IMHO, rust above the windshield and the door jambs, is the proverbial, "kiss of death". The problem with rust in thease areas, is not the rust-thru, but the rust you can not see. The best method to eradicate the rust, is to remove the top, by drilling out the spot-welds around the perimeter drip rail, followed by removal of the top cap. By doing so, you can address the rust issues, that have not manifested itself as actual rust-thru.

If the floor boards, kick panels, rockers, cab corners, A-pillars & cab supports are rust, as well, you may be better off finding a donor cab.

I would need some help with that if i did. The rust on mine is bad. The floor boards, rockers, cab corners are BAD, and the eyebrow piece is bad too. I found a 64 full complete truck for 400 bucks. I hope i can get it.

Keep in mind, the '60-'63 Chevy/GMC truck cabs, are different than the 4-5-6 Chevy/GMC truck cabs, so the doors & dash components will be different. Also, the '60-'62 frames are a different width that the '63-'66 cabs, so you will need to do some modifications to the supports, where the bolts drop through the floor and into the frame-to-cab perches.
