The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area The Electrical Bay Fuse Panel Location/Upgrade

My new modern style wiring kit arrived and my first query is where to put the fuse panel? EZ Wiring suggest the driver side kick panel, but I'm not so sure I like it there. The glove box is another choice, but I think I would really like to make some kind of a hinged or drop down panel to mount it on. Anybody ever do that? Any other suggestions? It will go in a '51 3100 cab.

I just finished installing a fuse block in my '55 1st series. It is located on the drivers side inside firewall. All the fuses are within reach and yet out of sight.

Thanks for the info. I am just concerned about any clearance issues. This AD has the foot parking brake peddle close to the side panel, but maybe your idea would work for me. I'll give it a look. Thanks.

In this picture you can see where I located mine. As suggested out of site on DS firewall. It is out of the way and no interference from park brake.

I mounted my EZ wiring fuse block on the driver side kick panel. And I have no problem getting to it or clearance issues. You can use one of the holes that mounted your old panel there. Just be sure not to mount the fuse block upside down. The cover identifies where each fuse goes and the cover can go on either way ask me how I know
