I hope someone can help me. I have a 1955 second series, three on the tree, 235. My headlights and park lights only work when the truck is running. I took it in for insurance inspection yesterday and the mechanic said the lights should work even when the truck is shut off. Can anyone tell me how to get them to turn on. Thanks so much for your help! | | | | Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 2,201 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 2,201 | Most likely the hot wire feed to the headlight switch has been bypassed through the ignition switch. It should come from the battery directly. | | | | Joined: May 2010 Posts: 9 New Guy | New Guy Joined: May 2010 Posts: 9 | thanks, I will check that out. | | | | Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 693 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 693 | that sounds like what it is - probably someone's idea as a fail-safe against leaving the lights on when the truck is not in use... | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | Randy - if you don't have a shop manual for the factory wiring diagram, it's onlineBill | | | | Joined: May 2010 Posts: 9 New Guy | New Guy Joined: May 2010 Posts: 9 | | | |
