See the pictures. The was I see it I can blast of the rust and 1. re solder it ( I have never done this) 2. use body filler 3. cut it out and weld in a patch panel. Any suggestions? Do not sand or grind the lead because of lung issues.
(2) sand blast the rusty area, then wash with Dupont #3812 enamel reducer.
(3) Fill the area with a fiberglass based body filler. "MarGlass" by Evercoat is one to consider.
(4) Top coat with regular body filler if required.
(5) Prime the area with Dupont Variprime etching primer, then spray with 2K high Build primer or whatever other product you like to use. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 171 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 171 | I don't know, but it seems to me that even though there is some rust, there has not been much metal lost. If so then find someone that can show you-or do it for you- how to re-lead the area.
