I'm trying to get a good adjustment on the parking brake. Looking at the assembly manual, I should start by pulling the rear drums and adjusting an eccentric bolt on the rear shoe here That might be why I can't get a good adjustment on the cables? Has anyone had any experience that can share some hints and/or tips??? Next Make sure your cables are not seized. I had that issue the first time I tried to adjust mine.

Ive never paid much attention to it. It seems you would adjust it so ther is a small amount of free play in the crossbar. It your shoes are adjusted correctly & you adjust the cables to take the slack out, the e-brake should work good.
