Couple of questions:

1. Did any of the 1965 trucks with the 230 have a tachometer?
2. Does anyone make a tach that will work with the inline but still look like the stock V8 tachs?

I can find the V8 tachs in all of the typical magazines but I never see one for the inline 6.

I don't know about an original stock tach, but you can purchase tachs that can be set for 4,6,8 cylinder readout. The usually have a small switch on the back to select the number of cylinders. I have one.

Sun Tach FZ88R is an 8,ooo RPM 90 degree sweep tack that will work with some modifications for mounting in the dash.

I got an tach from an old boat with a Mercruiser io. Came with a six cylinder. Looks a lot like a stock tach to me.

You need the tach and transmitter from a 60-63
