Gasket new and good. How tight do I dare torque down center bolt? Mine looks like this http://www.stovebolt.com/techtips/engines/oil%20filters/35.jpg Thanks | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,112 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,112 | It shouldn't take a lot of torque to seal the gasket. the washer on top can be a problem getting it to seal. I would look at the pattern that is impressed on the gasket to see if there is a problem. | | | | Joined: Aug 2011 Posts: 835 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2011 Posts: 835 | Make sure you put some oil on both side of the gasket before you put it on. Seems to help seal it.

Is this the way it is suppose to be? | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,112 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,112 | You want a gasket between the head of the bolt and the top. Usually this is in the form of a washer. | | |
