For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 3 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: May 2001 Posts: 3 | Hopefully this doesn't come across too ignorant, but I didn't get any instructions with my manifold, and I can't seem to find an answer on line so I'm going to ask it here. What are the two threaded holes for on the face of the manifold toward the back behind the carb? I am bound and determined to make this thing work in my 41 GMC with 700R4 AOD. I could have just put in a SBC crate engine an would be driving it by now for less money, but I had to be different, and now I have to turn to you folks for help. Thanks in advance for your help. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 | Hy Tim S, I can't be sure without seeing a picture, but is probably a place to bolt a throttle linkage pivot to, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 | Is this a single or dual carb manifold? | | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 3 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: May 2001 Posts: 3 | It's a single four bbl. I'm talking about the two larger tapped holes side by side toward the back. They are not the same size. I have figured out that at least one is for vacuum, but are they both? Which one for which? If I don't use both of them, should I just plug one?
Thanks for your help. Tim S. | | |
