The panel that says "CHEVROLET" has spot welds around it and I'm wondering if I should fill the spot welds as I'm filling the rest of the dents in the tailgate or were the spot welds visible when the truck came from the factory? Also, should I use seam sealer going around that "CHEVROLET" panel within the tailgate?
Thanks for any advice.

An original, untouched truck, which would be a valuable museum piece, would not have filler/sealer in those places. However, I have seen a 1948 GM Heritage Center truck - the GM restorers did not restore to original appearance.
