In the Truck Shop catalog, they are described as having exactly the same core size. If the difference is the locations of inlets and outlets, where are they on the GMC radiators? If they happen to be at top left and bottom right (as viewed from the cab looking forward), a GMC radiator would work better with the LT1 engine I'm putting in my '52 Chevy 3/4 ton. It would probably be cheaper to spend a few extra bucks for a GMC radiator than to have the radiator shop move the top neck on a new Chevy radiator.
Are the core supports the same between GMC and Chevy?

The GMC has the filler neck mounted on an elbow on the right aft side and the Chevy fills right into the top of the radiator. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2000 Posts: 427 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2000 Posts: 427 | The top radiator support on the GMC goes over the top of the radiator. That forces the filler neck to be mounted to the back side of top tank and the petcock is also on the backside bottom. GMC uses a fixed radiator cap(no pressure relief). Original GMC radiators have a pressure relief valve on the backside of the toptank and the overflow line runs from the pressure relief valve neck across the top and down the side. The Chevy has a filler in the top of the top tank and the overflow runs off the filler. Chevy uses a pressure relief cap. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 1,897 Member | | Member Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 1,897 | The GMC radiator will also sit 3/4 to 1 inch further toward the grill as the side mount brackets are straight up and down, not angled like the chevy which has the top of the radiator tipped toward the engine.
