When changing the oil in my inline i remove pan plug and remove filter from canister only to have about one quart of oil left in the canister, why does this oil not drain down and out of the pan? Now i have to replace the wife's baster! | | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,778 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,778 | The drain hole in the center tube is only about 1/16" in diameter, and it's halfway up the tube to prevent the filter from draining completely and delaying oil pressure buildup when starting. Even if you remove the return line the canister won't drain. The suction gun is your friend! Some canisters did have a drain plug in the bottom, but not all of them.
