My butterfly valve on the exhaust is leaking. Spring works fine and valve opes and shuts. If there a repair for this? Would this make my engine miss when warmed up afer a mile?

It's a loose fit in the manifold. If it were to tight if would bind up from deposites. A little putt, putt from around the shaft is normal and is not gonna hurt anything and is probably even a good thing. Now keep in mind that there is a limit to how much of a leak is tolerable.
