How good or bad are these engines?

Other than that they are cool engines that you don't see every day.

He drove it until 67 and never touched the engine, other than regular tune-ups; they were very tough. The only problem was that a 292 in a similar Chevy would out pull it with a load. In 67 he bought a new Chevy with a 327, the motor lasted about 50,000 miles before needing rebuilt. After the 2nd rebuild he replaced it with a 350 which had about the same life span.
