Depends on the panel. Outer body panels are generally 20 guage, bed panels are generally 16 guage and floor pans are generally 18 guage. I have a caliper from Harbor Freight with a chart inside my MIG welder that converts inches to guage. That's how I came up with the above.

Your safest way to get what you need is the measure your piece you are replacing and then measure the choices at the iron shop and find the one that measures the closest.

| | | | | Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 403 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 403 | If you go and get a sheet metal gauge you can measure the correct thickness of your metal just be sure if you cut out a piece to file the edge so you can get the right thickness. My 62 C-10 floor is 18 gauge along with my rocker panel and replacement door post.

I really havent noticed any change in the thickness of the sheet metal out here in Calif. but now that you mention it I will check for the thickness.
