I see you can buy replacements for some chevy muscle cars and even the early 50 s trucks. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas. | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 1,552 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 1,552 | I have an excellent source for this issue. Hit me with a PM, e-mail or phone call and I will shed some light on the situation. Have a great day.

There are lots that don't care about the next person though. ron | | | | Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 787 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 787 | If it is a chev the matching vin # is stamped in the frame. there is a good chance they may want to see that also ron | | | | Joined: Dec 2009 Posts: 35 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Dec 2009 Posts: 35 | Im not arguing with anyone, I just want my buddy to get the situation figured out now so he does not have any major problems once he gets the project all done. My brother had a early 80's chevy truck reinspected and stamped in 91. When that was done they actually stamped new numbers in the cab and frame. I think what they are getting at with this 66 was trying to locate a vin plate that they could stamp and put back in the original location because my brothers truck looked kind of [censored] when they put the new numbers in it. | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 1,552 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 1,552 | The complete VIN is not stamped on the frame...just the last eight characters.
