On a 51 3600 What color should the underside of the fenders be?

And then on the running boards are they black or body color?

It's time to start putting some paint on the sheet metal and I want to leave the option of being totally stock open.

Originly from the factory the underside of the fenders would have been
black e-coat primer with a little overspray from the body finish in spots.

The running boards would have been gloss black.

Perfect
The black epoxy that is the base primer coat is just like the factory might even hold up fairly well

That's correct, I'm using PPG DP90 primer on all my bare sheet metal. DP90, unlike
primer surfacer it isn't porous so it won't soak up water and it looks as close to the
original primer GM used as you’re gonna get in my opinion.

I am also using the PPG DP90LF black epoxy primer as a good match to the original black primer.
