Hey guys, The 50's v8 motor mount are they the same for car and truck? I have a 55 1/2 that I need motor mounts for. I plan on putting the stock 265 back in her. I've found the v8 car motor mounts for $50 complete set. Just wondering if they are the same length or not.
Thanks K. Bellyjello

I don't know for sure if they're the same or not, but the correct truck mounts are redily available from virtually any of the parts houses. Try American Classic, link at the top of the page smile

The trucks I remember working on back then had a horseshoe-shaped front mounting bracket that bolted to four holes beside the crankshaft damper, with one set of rubber supports at the center. 55 through 57 passenger cars had two small brackets, with a mount on each side. The cars went to side mounts in 58, not sure when the trucks made the switch.

Hotrod and Longbox are both correct. The bigger trucks did use the "U" mount and the smaller was like the cars. A third type (Corvette) mounted between the waterpump and block and sit on biscuit mounts on each side.

not "bolts" but complete mount kit - find'em here as ME830 - you won't find the individual pieces any other way
