The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot '60-'66 Trucks Rearview Mirror Bracket

I am putting in a rearview Mirror and my truck had one glued to the windsheild when I bought it. I now have the correct mirror and mounting bracket, but I've no holes to fasten it. Is there a measurment I could make to get the corect location? I did a search and looked at hundreads of truck pics but none gave a great view of the mount location. Any info or a pic would be most helpful.

Perhaps the factory accessory installation page from 1960 will be of some help. I assume it is the same through 1965. Unfortunately there are no dimensions included.

The mirror is centered over the windshield with the bottom of the mounting surface of the mirror bracket approximately 1/2" above the windshield lip.

The original holes are probably just filled with Bondo. Poke around that area shown in the pictures with a wooden match stick until you find one.

the bracket has a lip on it that bumps on the edge of the header. slide it to the lip then mark holes. mine didnt have the holes either. mirror optional?

if you don't have the lip on the bottom hanging over you won't be able to tighten it flush.

not on the squarish piece but about 1/2 down on the shaft.

I found the same DThela, on the up and down the is a spot where it sits nice and flush. Got it installed now looks good. Thx again for all the good info!
