Need to change the petcock under the fuel tank on my 49 half ton and before I pull the old out I'd like to have a replacement on hand. Does anyone know the size or have a part number? I am talking about the valve where the fuel exits the tank and connects to the short flex line.

That item is probably a hardware store item, probably .25" pipe, good idea to bring a new one to keep the bath time to a minimum.

I'd like to find out exactly before I even attempt to change the original.

If you have a NAPA store or anyone who carries Weatherhead brass fittings, they should be able to help. Edelman brass probably still makes one too. Good luck!
