What's the best way to get to it? Do I have to pull out the entire rear end/ torque tube / trans? Would it be eaiset to pull the engine forward? Thanks for your help! | | | | | Joined: Aug 2011 Posts: 835 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2011 Posts: 835 | You should be able to unbolt the torque tube cover from the tranny, slide it back, undo the universal joint, slide the yoke back into the tube far enough so you can then drop the end of the torque tube down to the ground. Then you can pull the tranny.
Sometimes the yoke cannot be slid back enough because the motor/tranny has shifted on the mounts or an Oakie bushing has been installed in the torque tube. Then you may need to undo the ubolts and slide the rear end back a notch.
Good luck!

Otherwise, don't worry about it.

Once down far enough to clear the back end of the tranny, pull the U-Joint, ball collar of the end of the driveline and then raised it until it touched the bottom side of the floor board.
Pulled the tranny and did my thing.
