Added a tach to my '55 1st series. I installed the tach in the clock housing bought from a fellow Stovebolter. It is not stock but neither is my truck. I am running a 261 engine.

A very nice use for the clock housing.

I have the same tach mounted on my column, you can pop off the cover and paint the sweep hand white if you want it to blend a little better. Actually, the reason I painted mine white was for greater visibility.

Yep, nice place to mount that little tach, I've got one of those SunPro tacks but had to
mount it on the steering column.

Sure wish someone would make some of those housings for a reasonable price. It's a
relatively simple part. If you had the means to make a sand casting and pour some
aluminum. A lot of hobby casters out there that could do it.

I'm moving out to the country this summer and have been wanting to do some alum and
zinc casting with a 5gallon propane furnace that I've had on the back burner for a decade.
I can't do anything like that where I’m at now. When you have the neighbor (s) from ^ell
living 25feet away from each side of you, you can’t do much of anything without being
threatened with a law suit. I think somewhere down the line I'm going to try and locate
one of those original ‘54 housings and make a pattern off of it.
