I recently acquired a '53 Chevy 1500 Canadian truck. I grew up on a ranch in Southern Alberta, so this old grain truck just seemed to fit perfectly. I came across this website and it is amazing! I look forward to the references from here while I work on restoring the ol' girl.

My '49 was built in Ontario, but worked as a grain truck out west before making its way back to Ontario for retirement!
As a Canadian truck, you'll have a few extra hurdles to cross when it comes to running engine numbers etc (if its still the orignal motor) - but the resources are here, you've found the right place on the web!

As mentioned GM of Canada used different VIN and model numbers than GM Corp. but that is a small hurdle to the process.

My 1953 Chevy Hopefully more soon, ideally while its running! Looking good,and more importantly pretty solid and complete! I see by the pic it has one of those special parking brakes,a big lump of wood.  Keep us posted of your progress.

Heritage Park in Calgary will celibrate Chevrolets 100th anaversary. They will have a brunch and tour for 20 bucks a head. It would be nice to meet some old bolters and talk trucks.
