I was wondering if there are any Cameo experts out there or if someone can point me in the right direction.

what's the question? should be able to find answers here - it was available 55-early 58 only .... some details shown in the assembly manual .... aside from the plastic bedsides and rear treatment, the Cameo is only different from the 3100 pickup in a few trim details, and there's no indicators in the truck ID to prove it's a Cameo, except that the 57 had special fender spears [3124 instead of 3100] .... some repro parts are available at Jim Carters

I had asked the question in another post but didn't get the answer I needed. I have some 3" wide ribbed trim rings from a 57 cameo but I don't know how to attach them. I have no images of how to attach them and they don't have any clips. I have pictures of trucks with these exact trim rings so I know they are correct. thanks for any help you can offer.

this is a beauty ring on one of 5 wheels/caps/rings I got from the 2nd owner of a very original '58 Chev 3100, and I'm fairly sure they were bought by the original owner from the dealer or aftermarket when he got the truck new .... that ring has very evil pointed spring fingers on the back that jam it on against the wheel, same as a full wheel cover, I've never seen any other way to hold trim rings on, paint be damned

the only picture that would indicate trim rings were "correct" on any truck would be a factory picture, particularly from an accessories brochure, and the only factory advert pics I've seen with other than the regular hubcaps had the full wheel covers same as the cars, I've never been able to find any GM reference in any accessories list or the master parts catalog for the rings or full caps having been offered for trucks - I'd be really doubtful there was a special beauty ring for Cameos only .... but there was a variety of them offered aftermarket back in the day

I'm not sure how to post pictures on here but I do have several pictures of different cameos with this trim ring, all seem to be 57's.

If you search the Classic Trucks site for cameos you will find a red one (#5 on the list) and a white one right below it (#6) on there that shows the trim ring I'm talking about.

if you mean the magazine 'Classic Trucks', that's a long way from documentation, I'd bet you could find many other trucks and cars with rings that look the same, pictures of someones "restoration" don't mean much - factory documentation works, and as I said it's very unlikely those are Cameo-specific, maybe not even GM

Thanks Bill, I'll do some more research

So I just got off the phone with a "Cameo Guru" by the name of Charles Mcginnis and what a great conversation and a nice guy. We talked for over an hour. One of the things I did find out is that my trim rings are correct for the period 57,58 cameo and could be ordered for the apache. I also found out where to get the clips which is great, Dans' Classic Auto Parts in Portland. I just wanted to thank everyone for trying to help, I appreciate it.
