Greetings all! We just purchased our first old beast, and I'm really looking forward to starting in on it. I've already met a few of you on other threads... friendly bunch of course. Don't be surprised to see me here often. I'll have tons of questions! Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Take it easy!

Thanks for the invite, Dave, but I'll still be living in Taiwan then. Not back to the sane world until May. Maybe in the fall I'll have the beast running and can take it on it's first trip.

Kyllaen,
Just got back from Taiwan. My wife and I took 9 high school students to Japan and Taiwan for spring break. We had a great time.

Here's our blog: http://burnabyasiatrip2012.blogspot.ca/

Well, isn't that a coincidence! We are finally returning to the land of the free after 9 years here in Taiwan. I'm off to check out your blog!

Great photos, Super55. Sounds like an interesting trip. We've been to most of those places in Taiwan, but it's interesting to see it from a 'tourists' point of view. After you are somewhere for such a long time you lose some of the amazement for the scenery, and culture too. I'm curious to know why the group came here, it's not really explained in the blog.

It was a cultural trip that our district takes to Asia every year. We have been to Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Last year we were suppose to go to Korea and Tokyo, but the earthquake hit one week before our trip.

That blog was mainly for the parents of the students so they could follow their children. It was a last minute idea, but it gave the parents a good idea of some of the places we went.

Ahhhhhhhhh volleyball season is finally over. The girls finished 13th in the province, but number one Asian Team I bet!!! Watched the finals, a lot of tallllllllll white girls. I have the outside walls up on the garage, just need to do the interior partition walls. Trusses are in the drive way, just need to hoist them up. Once I get the doors on, the radiant floor heating will get stoked up! Then I'll move the truck inside for the finish work. Let's see what year will that be?

Hotshoe's not dead yet. Neither is my '51; it will be back sometime in the next year - depending on how often I get home to work on it.

We're near Chilliwack now, around Mt. Thom from the Promontory. My truck needs a radiator now, since someone recycled it while it was out.

Just getting started on my winter project here, not today though -30 with wind chill of close to -40. Alberta gotta love the place in the winter especially looking thru the rear view mirror. Don't get me wrong I was born here and still love the place but I spent a lot of years in Pr Geo and driving parts truck for Finning all over B.C and Alberta now looking at a move to the Lumby area in the next couple of years.
Greeting and cheers from a Alberta neighbour.

HNY BC Bolters. I signed up on the forum last year. (I think). lol
Been too busy working and not enough time for the truck. (That is changing). Living in S.Surrey/Langley border. Hope to stay in touch more. Also, I wanted to extend the offer first to any BC Bolter that is looking for a 216 w 4spd trans. I have it. It is not siezed. And was running when I bought it. I'm not going to use it.
Thanks and hope to meet some of you soon! I have a 1954 Chev 1Ton and looking for parts, always. So maybe trades can work too!
Cheers and Keep On Rollin! Justin

Ummmm thought I posted a reply Mike, but seems to be lost in cyber space. Anyhow, welcome to the BC Bolters section of Stovebolt. Post some pics of your collection on a photoshare site and gives us the link. I have been working on a 2 ton for years....... However the cab is ready to come off. So it's getting much closer to finishing. I just retired recently too. Got a new garage built and finishing up the sheet metal on my Super 55 tractor. Then I'll finish up the gravel drive and haul the 2 ton into the shop and finish it off.

Here's a link to some pics before I started working on it. http://photoshare.shaw.ca/view/5655764041-1423275641-45753/8
If it asks for a password try Stovebolt.

And here are some cowl repair pics. Did you have any rust on your cowl pieces?

Epic #2 is running well, and so am I. We do a little local work together when one of my other wives does not require my services. Epic will soon need a new bed. I guess I'll be seeing LMC for the steel, and the wood will be local Douglas Fir.
