For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2011 Posts: 523 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2011 Posts: 523 | I have just finished wire brushing the prehistoric dirt and most of the rust from my 1946 truck brake and clutch pedals and the mount assembly. The brake pedal is still mounted on its pivot point (axel/bushing?). I have considered droping it into a bucket of Prep-N-Etch (phosphoric acid) prior to painting but have wondered it that is really a good idea considering the exposed clutch pivot point and the concealed brake pivot point. Does any one have some thoughts on this?

It will remove all the dirt, paint and convert the rust in a similar way as the phosphoric acid. Here is a link to one of my tractor buddies site where it is explained: Fit's electrolysis page. I am in the process of putting mine back together.

I also have some photos from 46chevy showing the actual fork to pedal linkage. Bob
