Hi everyone im new to this site but not to 60-66 chevy Gmc trucks. My dad and I have have had dozens of them.

I need a little help on figuring my 65 Suburban 4x4 out.

I just swapped a 350 in truck and none of the gears are working. It has the 4 speed manual trans. Engine running or not it will go into all gears fine doesnt matter if clutch is in or out.

Im not sure if the trans is bad or imput shaft is broken or whats going on?

One more question. When the engines running and in gear the driveshaft to the transfer case should be spinning right?

Any help would be appreciated.

If I understand, the trasnmission will shift into all gears & turn output shaft to transfer case. If that is the case transfer case is in neutal.

Always have the transfer case in gear, if it's in neutral you will never go anywhere. Now, with that said, I noticed on the video that the output shaft doesn't turn ever. So, I would say you have a transmission problem.

Transmission will go into all gears.
Transfer case was in 2W,4H,4L, and Neutral and still nothing.
There is no noise or grinding or anything.
Double checked all the obviouse stuff.
Pressure plate is releasing clutch disc and it just wont spin the output shaft.

Its like im just dumb founded. I have no clue otherwise.

I've broken a 4 speed before and after it was broke it never made a sound, just didn't make the truck go anywhere. I really think the tranny itself is the culprit. Was the 'burb ever driveable when you got it? I'm wondering if you bought it with a bad tranny and didn't know it.

Truck was all complete minus engine. trans and t case were all hooked up already. Everything looked good.
The guy I got it from seemed like a real straight up guy I called him back and talked to him for a while and he seemed like there shouldnt be any problems with it.
Maybe somthing i over looked or messed up with the engine install that i missed.
Im not totally sure.

clutch is in properly and lined up. ( flywheel, clutch disc, pressure plate)

All gears shift in trans. i popped shifter out just to check of somthing wasnt lined up or somthing was off and didnt see any problems.
Popped it back in and did ther half turn lock back on.

I really cant figure it out.

With the t-case in 4-Hi or 4-Low, jack up the rear, getting both rear wheels off the ground, put the tranny in gear and spin the rear wheels, by hand. If they spin, with the tranny in gear and the t-case in gear, the problem is in the tranny case.

Does the input shaft spline match the spline in the clutch disk?

Yeah its the clutch that came with the truck that the guy had with the original 283 and 4 speed. The clutch has alot of meat on disc and I seen the pressure plate opening and closing on disc.
