I've searched the numbers and I don't see an R or UTAH. Thanks, Ben | | | | | Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 1,451 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 1,451 | Possible reman stamp. Post the casting number. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 103 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 103 | I thought that was the casting number. It is stamped on the block to the left of the distributor. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 | Hy bens48bigbolt, casting numbers are raised above the surface, and are cast into/onto the block. Serial numbers or identification numbers are stamped into the surface with number or letter stamps, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 103 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 103 | | | | | | Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 506 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 506 | Hey Ben,
You'll find that block casting # on the passenger side of the block. Something like 3835911 or 3701946.
While you're there write down the other number, it's the block casting date. Will begin with a letter, like c124.
Post that info and we will tell you what you have.
