Looks like it has been cut, similar to threads that I read about splash oiler 235s. Oil does not come out of the cut end - at idle or at higher revs. Oil flows to the rockers. I didn't make notes on where these came from (older 235, 235 "848"head or 261). Maybe some can better ID them. Rocker Arm Oilers - - 1948 3/4-Ton 5-Window Flatbed Chevrolet 34 Years. The one on the right kinda looks like the one in the diagram in the Shop Manual.> Gus - Looks like yours feeds from the bottom. The video helped me see more than I could see when watching it in person. Must have been a more than one style of oiler. I guess this is one worry that I can put aside!

Many of the earlier type (as shown in the 1954 manual) were crimped in an attempt to force more oil to the rocker arms. The one on the right in Wally's link is the right type used up through 1958, although there was a all steel design that started in about 1954.

Thanks for the info, the link, and the confirmation that my oiler is correct. I'm glad that it is not another task to add to my "gotta fix" list.
