Hello every one,
I am looking for some information about the placement of the engine with in the frame rails.

1939 1/2 ton
1954 235
1955 bellhousing
19?? T5

I had cut out the front motor mounts but left the radiator support to fit a mustang II front suspension. A pair of side motor mounts were fabricated and are going to be welded on to the frame. I recently had my frame blasted and I am about to reassemble the suspension. The next thing to do is drop the engine in with the transmission so I can get the measurements to the rear differential.

What are the measurements for the placement of the engine; side to side - offset to the passenger side? Front to rear - not too forward because of the radiator and not too back because I do not want to cut into the fire wall. I plan to have the cab mocked up on the frame as a guide to ensure that I do not go too far back. How far up on the on the frame rail? What angle degree 3+ or 3-?

The rear suspension is a 4 link parallel. All installation of the suspension was done level; front to back side to side.

Thanks for the advice and help,
Bread

Hy Bread, it sounds like this question might be better suited to the high performance forum, but here goes. If you still have the rear crossmember for the engine mounts in place, you could use a bellhousing up to 1953 design, and bolt the engine into place using those stock mounts. That would position the engine in the stock location and allow you to install your fabricated mounts, hope that helps.

Thank you for the advice, I didn't think of placing the old bell housing back on the engine to set it.

Thanks,
Bread
