I bought a new set of rings (supposedly .040 over) and they are small. end gap 3/16" when put into cylinder. Aluminum pistons. New rings are not as wide as old rings. Any ideas?

My new pistons for my 216 took thinner rings too. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 123 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 123 | Looks like I was sold the wrong rings. I looked up the part number in a Grant brand piston ring catalog and it is listed for a different engine with smaller diameter cylinders. Thanks for the input. | | |
