I pulled the radiator to have it boiled and cleaned up and the reputable Radiator guy, "Bob", told me its shot, I need a new core at the cost of $448. New Rads are cheeper via the Chevy suppliers but I do have access to some other AD pick ups for parts. The question is are all AD Radiator interchangeable? Is there something I need to be aware of size wise if I find a good one out these parted out AD trucks?

I would trust the radiator shop that it is shot because generally when they boil out an old one they usually are. The price seems pretty high though. I would shop around for a new one.

Recoring preserves your original overflow top and bottom portion.
Boiling out with or without chemicals never restores them like new - I would just recore or buy new.
Used radiators are a cheap alternative, but all used radiators are clogged to some degree, in my experience. | | |
