I got the shifter jammed a few times between 1st and 2nd on the test drive. As long as you shift in an H pattern (90 degrees)it's OK but if you cut corners and shift in more of an angle it jams. It's okay between R & 1st as well as 2nd to 3rd. Problem is only between 1st and 2nd. Anyone know what's going on and what the fix is? Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | a very common problem - too much of that "cutting the corners" - you need to open up the box on the lower column, clean it out well, notice the way it's supposed to work, examine the positioning of the forks [adjusted with the end fitting on the rods to the trans], see if the corners of the forks or the pawl are too rounded off, fix as needed, regrease and reassemble
