The one in my truck has 6V stamped into it. One of the spares has a part number, but is a different shape/different pulley. I do have one that matches my current generator, but it has no number and I can't find anywhere that it is stamped. Any way to tell what it is? | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 1,107 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 1,107 | black tag 6 volt

But the one that looks more like mine(right length and pulley) has nothing on it that I can see in the way of identification. | | | | Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 | | | | | Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 160 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 160 | If I remember correctly the 12v had plastic covered fields and the 6v were cloth covered. | | | | Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 188 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 188 | Some of the auto stores have testers. Don't know whether they test generators. Might be worth a call. Also try a starter/alternator/generator repair shop, if you have one nearby. | | | | Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 | Thanks, I didn't even think of that. | | |
