We finally got the tire size on the front of the ’53 sorted out and eliminated the slight rub when turning at higher speeds. We decided to take it for a ride and take the other tires down to the storage unit. When we arrive the manager went nuts for the truck and insisted we need to take it to the car show on Friday in the next town over. So with nothing better to do, we headed down there. I’ve been told these things are very political and if you’re not in the “in” crowd not to expect too much. You can imagine our surprise when they called our name for the runner up to the top spot. First show we go to and we come home with a trophy!

Congrats!!! Yeah, unfortunately local shows often come down to who u know. That's a shame but very common. The larger shows are much better at that mainly because the judges are not local, but of course harder to win. All in fun I guess. U can't take it to seriously. On the other hand, many large shows pay $, along with the trophy, and some of those guys take it VERY seriously. Needless to say it can get pretty "heated" at times!!!!
