I have installed a rebuild kit but still get hesitation on accerlation, any help?

Had the same issue running a pair of them on a 55 pickup several years ago. Never could figure it out.

have you checked your timing?

With the engine off and air cleaner removed, look down the throat and pump the accelerator to make sure the diaphram is pumping a good stream of gas.

Also, check to see if the throttle shaft is worn and has any play in it which could be a source for an air leak.

The accelerator pump circuit for the W-1 has:

(A) bracket bolting to throttle shaft with a round hole that becomes elongated
(B) Rod from bracket (A) to cross arm which wears a groove

If either the bracket or the rod wear as above, a hesitation can certainly occur. Replacing these parts often will eliminate a hesitation if the carb is the culprit.

A misfunctioning distributor will also cause a hesitation.
