I put a new harness in my '49 and now want install my heater switch and wire it to the heater motor (6V). I need to know wire guage to use and the correct terminal from which to get the power for the heater. The switch terminals are marked B and M. I assume M means it's the motor terminal.

The installation manual says to get power from the dead terminal on the ignition switch (dead when the ignition key/switch is in the Off position).

If you have the original heater-motor switch. Facing the front of the switch, the power-in goes on the left terminal and the power-to-motor goes on the right terminal (the terminal closer to the heater when the switch is mounted under the dash).
