I have points and am thinking of converting to an electronic system while using my original distributor. What would be the best brand to convert to and what benefits could I expect?I have used points and install them myself since 1978 but am having difficulty purchasing American parts-the Chinese parts just don't last!!! If you want to use your original distributor, The Pertronix electronic unit may be your only choice. If your wiring is good and your grounds are good/clean, you should have no problems.

It's fairly simple and easy to do. I don't know what the new ones cost, but finding a used one at a salvage yard should be cheap? | | |
