The rattler balancer (high per) has no pullys on it for the v belt how do you add pullys to that balancer? and is it worth the money? | | | | | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 5,195 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 5,195 | Are you planning on spinning this thing high rpm's? If mot, then a stock or rebuilt stock unit will work just fine.
Talk to or E-mail Tom Lowe, you will find him at ( Inliners.org ). He builds and modifies inline 6's and has a daily driven turbo charged 6 cylinder.

I'm going to run a 700-r4 behind it so I'm not sure if it will even burn the rubber. I'll test it out in about 5 years when I'm done with this truck. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 46 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 46 | N8dawg, Obviously a 292 crank is longer than most any V8. So its natural frequency for destructive harmonics is at lower rpm than the shorter crank. The torsionals are higher at lower rpms also. I'd use a Fluidampr myself. It would also help reducing torsionals transmitted to the valve train. A large one for a Chev V8 might be bore modified to fit if one isn't available for 292. David | | |
