An original sway bar on a 1952-1955 1/2 ton panel body truck should work fine on your 1954 1/2 ton truck.
Jim Carter sells the bushings set (and, he sometimes has a used sway bar set).

It is VERY heavy duty (1 1/8 inch bar)
and uses same frame and chassis mounting points as a stock one. Comes with all Teflon bushings, hardware, U=bolts, and mounting brackets.
I think it's about 169 bucks.
