I need to know what the correct track width is on a 1964 C10. I need the front and rear measurements. I am looking at purchasing another truck and the front tires seem to be further apart than the rear tires. Any help would be great!

I don't have a track width available right now, but if the truck looks original, I would say that there are probably different wheels on there, that have different "offsets".

I lowered my 64 21/2in. and went over to discs and it seems to have widened the front track approx an inch, wider that the rear. I didn't mesure it beforehand but noticed the the fender clearance was less. Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in.

How did you lower your 64, springs or spindals?
I would think springs would allow the increased width, but I would think lower spindals would not. I want to lower my 63 and am unsure which way I will go.

Porter, the front end on my '66 is darn near 73" from outside of rim to outside of rim (standard rims, not sure of any offset). Hope that helps.

I know that using the lower control arm and spindle will increase the width about an inch, but doing this will require you to remove all the shims from the upper control arm, because the later model lower control arms are mounted closer together at the crossmember. Even if you did that, the width will increase about an inch (know someone that did it).

I changed the entire crossmember out (check out my progress on my website); haven't gotten any measurements as of yet, but I expect the width to increase some. If I make a junkyard run tomorrow, I'll see what the width of a '75 is.

Thanks for the help. Sorry it took so long to reply,life is busy. After I got the wheels off and measured it was only about an inch or so. The guy I got it from put a drop shop front end on it with 1972 chevy disk brakes. Thanks again!
