Was pulling the brake lines off of my 1950 3800 and stuck in the end of the line that runs between the main junction and the front junction there was a brass plug fused into the line's end. It looks like its there to prevent fluid from flowing back to the main junction. I haven't seen this item before, am I interpreting its use correctly? There are 2 more after it as well. Forgive the still ring around the base of the cone, this little plug is stuck in the line and I'm trying to free it with little luck. I wasn't sure whether, given that the master cylinder is below the brake lines, there might not be a little plunger that would prevent fluid from running back to the master. All I know is that this truck did have brakes that worked. Somebody has stuck it into the brake line to block fluid from flowing to that wheel, probably because of a leaky wheel cylinder. That "fix" was not uncommon when someone wanted to get a disabled vehicle back on the road temporarily.

Some of the lines running to the rear-end looked like they were commandeered from an old refrigerator. I had extra thick pads made and got one last turn of the drums but I think this is their final go-round (pun intended).
On a related topic - my 1-ton has the park brake cable and brake assembly on only the passenger side, a patch of rubber has been bolted in place to cover the driver side hole on the flange plate. Did the 1950 1-tons always come with cable and brake for both sides?
